As discussed at the last District Leaders meeting.
Blair is coming up next year and the District has been asked how many patrols of 6 would like.
I said that we would be able to have 6.

What are your veiws on us trying to send a patrol to it?.

Hi Barrie,

As I have been on the selection panel before, as long as it is fair and done properly and not pick a pal type then I am okay with it.

The pick a pal was at area level and not district level thankfully.

I think that it will be Scout Leaders and Explorer Leaders that will decide who will get.
As you say it is at District level now so it should be better

Agreed Brian - that was one of my biggest frustrations and why I never promoted Blair to any of my Explorers but if now I feel they have a chance of being selected then I will promote it to them all!

As far as i am concerned it is up to the Districts to decide who is going and then the region will co ordinate it.

I will be promoting it to the Explorers, it is a great opportunity. I know I loved it as a participant and as staff. I did prefer being a scout on it though

Form advising SHQ that we would like a Patrol has been sent away.
Just waiting for word back.
Once we get this then ifo can be sent out and we can start to get a plan in place for selection.

I have had meetings with the other Dc's about Blair and the plna is to have the selection weekends together but we will get a patrol for our District

Flyers and letters have been sent out to all GSL's and Explorer and Scout Leaders promotiong the event.
Forms have to be in soon.
Please promote so we can get a patrol going!!

Deadline has past for applicants to put their name forward.

No one from the District has done so.

This means that our 6 places will go to another District that can fill them!!
